Stories.

Some days it feels like I’m a part of the wind

Like everything , everyone is whispering stories to me

The little barefooted girl who sells roses ,

The man whose skin bears no resemblance to his age ,

The fish monger who gargles out remnants of tobacco ,

The naughty five year old who elbows his sister when his mother is not looking ,

The smell of freshly fried vada pav,

The cackle of sparrows overhead ,

Sweat dripping from the brow of a man in the gym ,

Stolen glances across the classroom ,

The simmer of tea in the kettle ,

The elderly woman reading fifty shades of grey ,

The bruises of a boy learning to pedal his first bicycle ,

The fight between two grown men over a train seat ,

The pain in the limp of a dog ,

The stench degrading garbage in the by lanes ,

The silent tears of a man who lost his mother ,

The smile of the girl with the crooked teeth .

It all comes together ever so beautifully .

Its almost as if the universe is at work .

Spinning weaves of life ,

Like strands of silken thread in a tapestry .

All acting in unison ,to play their part in the ultimate story .

MY EUPHORIA GENERATOR …

Do you ever get that feeling where your heart is thumping , your body feels restless and your mind is exploding with a million thoughts all at once ?   You feel so happy but you just can’t put it into words ?     And you wish that the moment  never ends ?

This feeling of immense joy , merged with kicks of adrenaline is called ‘Euphoria’ .

It is different for different people . For some it is when they dance , for some it is when they listen to their favorite song , for some it is the tizzy that alcohol sends you into !

But for me , it is exploring and observing places .

I am a kind of person who is interested in what’s going on in the backdrop of the story rather than the characters ; to put it in other words , I have the tendency to get lost in watching  the surrounding , and absorbing every little detail of a place rather than listen to what the people around me might be discussing about .

My friends rarely hand me the camera  , because they know very well that I would end up capturing the colorful gola stall or the unusually huge fly sitting on top of a gola …rather than taking their pictures !

I don’t know why I like doing this . All I know is that , I just do !

I feel that every place in itself has a story to tell . Take South Mumbai for instance . The Victorian architecture there takes me to a different era . I can still feel the British air  . I feel that the huge intricately carved panels , the strong pillars , the various sculptures overlooking the busy streets ,all yearn to tell a story untold .

Be it the filthy and gloomy streets of Chor bazaar , the fragrant chaos at the Dadar flower market , A glimpse of the foggy nilgiri mountains , the sandy winds of Rajasthan , or a majestic sunset at Marine drive , each has a beauty of its own . And encapsulating that beauty in my mind gives me a high !

But my point here is , that each one of us should identify our own ‘Euphoria generator ‘.

Everyone should know what is that    ‘one thing’   that lets us experience  ultimate bliss. They are like a safe place , where we can retrieve when we feel low . They lift up our spirits and give us a reason to continue our search for more such moments in life . And their memories immortalize that happiness within us . So before moving on with your lives , I suggest you find that ‘one thing’ ,so that today when you step out into the world….You will step out in search of happiness !
